Zombie Check: Survival Shelter is the third inspection game in this catalogue and the only one where the wrong call kills someone. Survivors arrive at your quarantine checkpoint one at a time, you examine them for symptoms, and you choose between three outcomes: send them to camp, put them in quarantine, or eliminate them. There is no fourth option and no way to defer.
That three-way choice is what separates it from Club Guard and Night Club Security, which both come down to letting someone in or turning them away. A binary decision is a judgement about evidence. A three-way decision with quarantine in the middle is a judgement about uncertainty — quarantine exists precisely for the survivor you cannot read, and knowing when to use it rather than committing either way is the actual skill.
Symptoms make that harder deliberately. They can be hidden, they can be merely suspicious rather than conclusive, and they can evolve over time — which means a survivor who looked clean may not have been, and the checkpoint you ran an hour ago is not the same problem as the one you are running now. Certainty is not on offer; managing your error rate is.
It carries Horror and Strategy, and both are doing work the other inspection games do not need. Horror because the consequences are what they are, Strategy because you are making decisions under genuine uncertainty rather than spotting contraband. The tools — rotate to inspect, 1, 2 and 3 for the verdict, E to equip — are simple. The decisions are not.
